A blackberry breeze is a sweet, simple cocktail that is perfect for mid-summer cocktail parties and barbecues. You can use frozen blackberries for this complex cocktail, but you will need to reduce the lemonade by 1/8 cup, as the drink will become too watery. This recipe makes two blackberry breeze cocktails, but it is easy to reduce or multiply based on the number of servings you want to prepare. You can make these drinks ice-blended as well, by placing the prepared drinks into a blender with cup of crushed ice. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
- 1
Muddle nine fresh blackberries in a cocktail shaker with a good amount of crushed ice. Add 1 oz. of Crme de Cassis, 1/4 oz. strawberry syrup and 3 oz. gin.
2Cover the cocktail shaker and shake gently for 10 seconds. Shaking too long or vigorously will bruise the gin, which intensifies the juniper flavor of the alcohol.
3Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into two martini glasses. Top each glass with 1/8 cup of lemonade.
4Garnish each glass with a fresh blackberry and a lime wedge. Serve immediately while ice cold.
