How to Prepare for a Master Cleanse

The Master Cleanse diet has been around for over 50 years, and its popularity increases every time a celebrity swears by it. Although those who are actually able to stay on the diet initially lose weight, the detox is hard to complete and weight is often put back on once the body consumes food again. For those who want to attempt the famous fad diet, there are a few ways to make beginning it slightly easier. In order to prepare for a Master Cleanse, there needs to not only be physical challenges to overcome but also mental ones.

    Get rid of any food that will be a temptation on the Master Cleanse. By removing junk food and sweets, there will be less of a temptation to stray from the diet. While on the Master Cleanse, only water is consumed. The less food one is able to see around the house, the greater the chance of completing the cleanse. Getting rid of the junk food will also make it easier to be healthy once the cleanse is done.

    Prepare mentally for the cleanse. The Master Cleanse is tough to complete, and many individuals start it without getting mentally or physically prepared. Individuals who do not prepare for the Master Cleanse by detoxing their system beforehand can encourage the body to go into starvation mode and not get any results out of the cleanse.

    Start eating less food before attempting the Master Cleanse in order to avoid being hungry on the detox. Once the body becomes use to eating less food, it will be easier to complete the 10 days of the Master Cleanse.

    Do the Master Cleanse for the right reason. Doing it because a celebrity said it worked for her or because it is a popular detox diet are both wrong reasons to undergo the cleanse. Individuals should try the cleanse if they want to rid the body of toxins, since doing it for health and wellness will help the results last longer and be more effective.

    Keep occupied in order to be successful on the Master Cleanse. Start a new activity to take the mind off of the diet since boredom is one of the major reasons people eat and put on weight in the first place.

    Make the Master Cleanse every day and consume it according to directions. To make the cleanse, use 2 tbsp. of organic fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp. of Grade B genuine maple syrup, 1/10 tsp. of cayenne pepper and 8 ounces of water. Drink at least 60 ounces of the mixture, in addition to a cup of decaffeinated herbal laxative tea to cleanse the intestines.
