How to Make Your Own Juice Cleanse

Cleansing is a great way to help your body return to a state of balance. The theory behind cleansing is that it helps your body eliminate toxins and reduce the stress on your liver and kidneys. A juice cleanse will increase the amount of antioxidants you consume, further helping your body to fight any toxins released into your system until they can be eliminated. People use juice cleanses to lose weight or simply increase their feelings of well-being with higher energy levels and more mental acuity.

Instructions

    1

Select the fruit you will use for each batch of juice. Use several fruits together. The best rule of thumb is to mix fruit colors to get different vitamins and minerals. Excellent fruits to use in a juice cleanse are: oranges, lemons, cranberries, blueberries, pears and strawberries. Use organic when possible to avoid additional toxins from pesticides.

    2

Rinse and clean the fruit with water.

    3

Place the fruit in the juicer.

    4

Turn the juicer on and catch the juice in the glass or airtight container. Do not make more than 32 ounces of juice at a time. This should last you half the day. Store juice you are not drinking immediately in the airtight container. Try not to pre-blend too much of your juice, as you will lose the nutritional value by having it sit out. Vitamin C and antioxidants begin to lose potency immediately when exposed to air through juicing.

    5

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 as needed. Be sure to mix the fruits up to satisfy your taste buds and give you different vitamins and minerals throughout the duration of your cleanse.
