How to Make Lemonade With Agave Nectar

Good, old-fashioned lemonade is a summer tradition. For some folks, it's a year-round drink. Making lemonade with sugar is the standard, but you can make a healthier version of lemonade with agave nectar. Agave nectar is a sweetener made from the same plant used to create tequila. This sweetener is 40% less glycemic than refined sugar, so it's perfect for reducing your sugar consumption. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

How to Make Lemonade With Agave Nectar

    1

Clean a 64 ounce container that has a top, can be shaken, and can be stored easily in a refrigerator.

    2

Pour 49 ounces of water into the container.

    3

Add 8 ounces of concentrated lemon juice.

    4

Add 7 ounces of agave nectar.

    5

Shake the mixture as hard as you can. The agave nectar tends to settle on the bottom, so shake to distribute it evenly throughout the lemonade.

    6

Taste the lemonade. Add more water or slightly more agave nectar to taste.
