How to Make Fizzies Drinks

Fizzies drink tablets, created in the 1950s, allowed kids to make their own soda by dropping an effervescent tablet into a glass of water. After the Food and Drug Administration banned some artificial sweeteners, Fizzies' formula changed and eventually disappeared from the market. Fizzies drink tablets are now back in the candy aisle and once again you can make your own soda. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

    1

Buy Fizzies tablets at specialty stores, candy shops and online. You can choose from five flavors: orange, blue razz, lemonade, cherry and root beer.

    2

Drop a Fizzies tablet into a glass containing 4 to 6 oz. of cold water. You can even drop a Fizzies drink tablet into your water bottle.

    3

Watch it fizz. The tablet will dissolve in about 30 seconds.

    4

Drink in the fun and enjoy the fact that this treat contains your daily serving of vitamin C and has no calories. Fizzies are a great option to give your kids when they are begging for soda.

    5

Throw a mad scientist theme party for your kids and let them make Fizzies drinks in beakers. For adult fun, add a little liquor to your Fizzies drink. Imagine quenching your thirst on a hot summer's day with a Sloe Gin Fizz enhanced by a lemonade Fizzies drink tablet.
