The popularity of detoxification programs has been on the rise due to their ability to return the body and mind to its natural balance.     The 21 Day Detox program was popularized by Oprah Winfrey and created by health expert Kathy Freston. Also known as the Quantum Wellness Cleanse, the diet focuses on whole, hearty foods while eliminating five ingredients from one's daily routine. The 21 Day Detox program calls for the elimination of gluten, caffeine, sugar, alcohol and meat. As indicated in the title of the detoxification program, one should maintain this diet for a maximum of 21 days, twice a year.

Products

    One trip the pharmacy reveals more than a dozen products promising full-body cleanses and detoxification. It is best to avoid such drink mixes or pills and stick to a more natural detoxification process. The point of a cleanse is to rid your body of supplemental dietary supplements and the unknown ingredients that accompany them that bog down your body.

Natural Foods

    The best way to detoxify your body and keep it fairly clean of unwanted toxins is to simply maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. Consuming whole, unprocessed foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables and lean meat will lead to a much healthier body and mind. Avoid junk food and sugars, and keep alcohol and caffeine consumption moderated.
