How to Do the Model Cleansing Diet

A cleansing or detox diet involves eliminating any sugars, alcohol, caffeine, grain proteins and food derived from animals for a given period of time. This approach to eating does not only result in weight loss in many cases, but is also said to rid the body of toxins. Models often use this dieting method to stay healthy and keep their weight under control, especially in the week before a photo shoot or show. The cleansing diet is also popular among models because it has been associated with additional benefits such as shinier hair, visibly healthier nails, and radiant skin.

    Start gradually eating less than usual per day during the 3 or 4 days before beginning the cleanse. This will help your body to adjust without being shocked by a sudden, drastic diet change.

    Drink freshly squeezed fruit juice with no sugar added for breakfast on day number one of the cleanse diet. Avoid acidic citrus juices, which can irritate the stomach during cleansing.

    Have a moderately sized portion of homemade vegetable broth for lunch and dinner.

    Drink fruit juice during the periods between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner when you are craving a snack.

    Drink water all throughout the day and try to exceed the recommended 8 glasses a day.

    Add 1 tablespoon of psyllium fiber to your juice or water up to 3 times a day.

    Continue this eating pattern for a period lasting from three to seven days.

    Resume your normal eating habits when the three days are up. Avoid eating heavy food in large amounts on the first day of normal eating, as this is likely to make you feel sick.
