Wu-Yi Diet Tea Ingredients

Wu-Yi Diet Tea is a brand of oolong tea specially designed to promote effortless weight loss by requiring the dieter to drink two cup-sized servings of the tea each day one hour or 30 minutes before meals. The Wu-Yi diet plan also encourages dieters to consume the daily recommendations of six glasses of water. As with other miracle weight loss products, better and quicker results are seen when the product is used in conjunction with diet and regular exercise. Wu-Yi tea is named after the Wuyi Mountains in China, where the tea leaves are harvested.

Oolong Tea

Oolong tea, the main ingredient in the Wu-Yi Diet Tea, it is a type of tea that combines the diet-friendly, beneficial properties of both green and black tea leaves. The claimed health benefits of this tea include: improved metabolism, fat reduction, glowing skin, a reduction in cancer risks and heart diseases, and a stronger immune system.

Caffeine

Though Wu-Yi Diet Tea has about half of the caffeine per serving as a similar serving of coffee, the caffeine in the tea may also work to speed up the rate of metabolism and to give the dieter an extra energy boost.

Antioxidants

Polyphenol, a naturally occurring chemical found in many teas, is an antioxidant. Another antioxidant found in Wu-Yi Diet Tea is catechin. Both antioxidants trigger certain enzymes in the body that dissolve triglycerides and burn fat. Antioxidants are also found to have great benefits for the heart.

Additional Ingredients

Additional Ingredients found in Wu-Yi tea include common vitamins such as iron, fluoride and calcium. These ingredients, in combination with the other ingredients in the tea are believed to aid digestion, and therefore promote an increased metabolism. Some Wu-Yi teas include ginseng, which flushes toxins out of the body.

Considerations

Makers of Wu-Yi Diet Tea advise that drinkers and dieters avoiding using additives like cream and milk to the Wu-Yi tea in order to avoid changes to the tea's antioxidant properties. Anyone allergic to any of the ingredients described above should consider other weight-loss products. Consulting a doctor before beginning a diet including Wu-Yi tea is not necessary, but a doctor may be able to recognize if ingredient in the tea could interact with a patient's other medications. Discontinue drinking Wu-Yi Diet Tea if vomiting or diarrhea persist for more than a day.
